New Features in ScienceDirect

Friday, April 13th, 2007

Some new ScienceDirect features have been added recently:

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds - RSS is an established Web standard for the delivery of news headlines and other frequently updated content summaries. RSS feeds are available on ScienceDirect for search results, citations and new articles, as well as more than 300 pre-selected topics. RSS feeds alert you immediately when ScienceDirect has new content of interest to you. This content becomes available in one place as soon as it is published.

Cited By in Scopus - Access to a wealth of citation information is made possible with this new functionality. Cited By in Scopus, which links to specific citations in Scopus - the largest abstract and citation database of research literature and quality Web sources - is included on the ScienceDirect article pages. Cited By in Scopus features a real-time citation count, which has also been added to all article references. You don’t need a Scopus license to view the citations.

Live Chat - ScienceDirect Live Chat is an online, real-time instant messaging technical support service available 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday. When you click on the Live Chat button, a new window opens enabling you to communicate with a member of the ScienceDirect e-Helpdesk. Should the need arise, the e-Helpdesk can co-browse* with you to show you how to perform a certain task. Live Chat will be rolled out in phases following an initial trial period with selected customers.

High-Quality Artwork - ScienceDirect can now support the highest-quality images for image-reliant journals.
