Due to the increasing costs of journal subscriptions and budget reductions, the Library is carefully reviewing the journal collection in preparation for potential journal subscription cancellations in the 2010 calendar year. To do this with the best interests of the Institute in mind, we need your help.
We have prepared a list of journal titles that may have to be cancelled. We excluded titles from publishers such as Elsevier, Springer, and Wiley with whom we have contracts that prohibit cancellations. The list includes titles with high cost per use and titles for which we have insufficient use data. We included and marked many titles which could be cancelled, but to which you would still have access electronically via full-text databases.
We are asking you to tell us in the comment boxes which titles on the list are crucial for your research and teaching. For example, if you find a title on the list that contains articles required for a course, tell us. If you use a specific journal in your research or publishing activities, tell us. If you are an editor or reviewer of a journal, tell us.
Your feedback is vital to our decision-making about which information resources are critical to the teaching and research programs at Georgia Tech. If you have questions, please contact your college/school subject librarian or Nancy Simons, Head of Collection Development. We greatly appreciate your assistance with this review and your continuing support.
